We had this at 2 AM in NYC after the Blackpink concert in Citifield, and it was a fantastic experience to enjoy BBQ that late. The service was great; everyone was friendly and happy, even while working late hours. The food was so good that I forgot to take a picture at first! I will definitely come back for more. I love their happy hour, the food is good and affordable, and their service is the best.
I loved my time at this restaurant today. Our server, Palm, gave us excellent service and truly made our experience so much more delightful. The food was great and we left extremely full. The s’mores here were a fun dessert experience as we were able to toast the marshmallows at our table ourselves. I can’t speak enough about how much I enjoyed my time here today.
It was my first time here and I had a great dinner with my family. It was a large group of us and I thought everything was handled very well. Due to our group size they requested that we preorder with a list to save time which helped a lot. The server reviewed each family list items and afterwards everything came out timely. The server explained how long each meat should cook and with their instructions everything came out pretty good. They also frequently changed the grill so nothing burned. Overall we had a nice time and I felt that the wait staff was on top of things which made the dining service enjoyable.
If you're looking for a fun and tasty BBQ experience in Flushing, Gyu-Kaku is a solid choice. We grilled up a nice mix of shrimp, squid, and shishito peppers — super fresh and cooked perfectly on the grill. The marinated meats were flavorful and tender, especially the beef cuts — juicy, rich, and went great with their dipping sauces. The atmosphere was cozy and lively, perfect for hanging out while cooking your own food. Service was friendly and fast, and everything came out in good time. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a chill meal with friends!
I came here on a Friday night. The wait wasn't too long it was around 10 - 15 minutes. I got the restaurant week special. It was pretty worth it. The food was really good, it included a lot of appetizers as well as 3 meat dishes. There is a buffet but on Fridays and weekends they don't do it after 3pm. Definitely a good restaurant.
We went for the weekday lunch special and it was really busy for a weekday but then we found out that they only had two servers on duty and that’s probably why the tables weren’t turned fast enough. Good thing we had a reservation. With that said, the servers did really well, not as attentive as they normally are but not bad considering the circumstances. The food was still really good, they rearranged their menu a bit which made it much easier to understand, showing the upcharges better. Now we can see how four people ordering $20 lunch specials can walk out spending $170 not including tip LOL. I still say the bistro hanger steak is my favorite and I really enjoy their salad because the salad dressing is so good. Overall, a really enjoyable meal.
We came to Gyu-Kaku to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and it was perfect from start to finish! The service was excellent—our servers were friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving at a great pace. Even with the 1 hour and 45 minute dining time limit, we never felt rushed. We had more than enough time to enjoy each course and even wrap up with dessert. We ordered the Gyu-Kaku Feast, and the food was incredible. My personal favorites were the Yaki Shabu and the Harami Skirt Steak! Every item was fresh, well-seasoned, and arrived in a timely manner. This was such a fun and memorable way to celebrate a special occasion. Gyu-Kaku absolutely delivered with delicious food, exceptional service, and a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Great place located on the second floor. Once you're seated they take about 15 minutes to explain the 7 menus. It's too much. We ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu. They give you a lot of food for the price. Rice, salad and soup comes with the meal. You choose an appetizer, vegetable, combo set (protein) and dessert. It's very filling. We had the Eggroll and friend dumpling. It was crispy, moist and hot. The protein doesn't look like much but with everything else, it's enough. Proteins were marinated. Very easy to grill. Everything was delicious. Only disappointment was the s'mores. It was hot enough I give good char marks on the marshmallow. It couldn't melt the chocolate so it ended up dry. It's seems to be a popular place because it fill up at noon. It's a nice lunch option.
